Drill, Blast, and Decarbonise:

Product Carbon Footprinting in the Mining Supply Chain

ThinkZero delivered a detailed product carbon footprint assessment using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology for a manufacturer of an advanced stemming gel used in mining’s drill and blast operations. The engagement - commissioned by STEMSAFE - showcased ThinkZero’s ability to blend scientific rigour with real-world application. Using blast pattern data, we mapped cradle-to-gate emissions and quantified the carbon impact of alternative stemming choices. The result: clear, credible emissions data to inform procurement and product decisions in a decarbonising mining sector.

Driving the Games: Volvo Buses & Public Transport

When Brisbane committed to hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games as the world’s first climate‑positive Games, public transport became a central lever of ambition. Volvo Buses stepped in with electric bus systems promising to reduce the city’s fleet emissions by 50 % by 2030 and 80 % by 2035.

To support this leadership positioning, Volvo engaged ThinkZero to provide technical insight, strategic framing, and communications input for a public‑facing campaign aligned with the Games’ sustainability vision. ThinkZero conducted research on Brisbane’s emissions trajectory, energy and transport infrastructure, and climate‑aligned legacy targets. But just as crucially, we helped shape the narrative: turning data into messaging, and strategy into storytelling.

The result? A spotlight on how Volvo Buses can be a force for good in delivering climate‑aligned infrastructure - amplified through audience‑appropriate, evidence‑backed, and forward‑looking communications.

Legacy insight: Messaging matters. ThinkZero helps clients communicate with authenticity, impact, and rigour - especially when the world is watching.
