Carbon Literacy Masterclass: Middle East

About this Program

This Masterclass is an important step in your organisation or team’s journey towards a low-carbon future. The course provides eight hours of learning, comprising two hours of self-directed online pre-work and six hours of live workshops delivered over two half-days. Developed as part of the ThinkZero Carbon Literacy programme, the course brings together people from different business functions to build a shared understanding of sustainability, carbon and climate change, and the circular economy. It considers these topics within the Middle East context, including economic diversification, energy and industrial transition, rapid urban and infrastructure development, water and resource constraints, and growing exposure to physical climate risks. Participants will explore sustainability principles, frameworks and practical actions; the meaning of net zero and carbon neutrality; carbon pricing and markets; and the differences between linear and circular economic models. Regional examples help participants consider what the transition means for their organisation, their role and the decisions they make. Course activities include the globally focused En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator developed by Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan, supported by discussion of practical actions relevant to organisations operating across the Middle East.
